Our first major project is a $1.5 million median enhancement project on Pacific Coast Highway.

The Pacific Coast Highway is one of the great scenic highways in America. In Malibu PCH is not only ugly, but it is unsafe. Our median enhancement project starts in front of Malibu Creek Plaza shopping center and runs 1.4 miles up to Malibu Canyon. See our FAQ’s >

Our project will make the highway attractive, but it also offers other advantages:

  • A landscaped highway is safer for pedestrians and drivers

  • An irrigated median is a fire-safe median

  • Environmentally, a permeable median allows rain-water to penetrate and reduces storm water runoff

For years, people have asked, “Why isn’t anyone doing something to make it safer and more attractive?” The MalibuGreenMachine is doing something. Our mission is to “green” community areas with an emphasis on native plants and xeriscaping--water efficient landscaping. Meet the Team >

It’s crunch time!
We’ve raised more than half the funds for this privately funded project, and we need to raise the final $600,000. We need everyone to be a civic-minded angel and step forward to make this dream a reality. If everyone becomes a PCH Angel and donates even a small amount, we can begin construction in September, 2008. We are a nonprofit and donations are tax-deductible.
